A lesson will not mark complete

Updated Aug 2026 · 2 min read

Almost always there is an activity on the page that is not finished yet. Mark complete tells you which one: look for the line under the button that starts "One thing left" or "Still to finish above".

The usual culprits

  • A "Try it" checklist with an item still unticked.
  • A knowledge check that has not been passed. Quizzes complete themselves when you pass them, not from the button.
  • A "Listen and compare" or "See the difference" block where one version has not been played or viewed.
  • A code walkthrough or prompt lab whose steps have not been opened.
  • A reflection that was typed but never saved.

If that is not it

1.Scroll the whole lesson. The rail on the left lists every step, and anything unfinished has no tick.2.Refresh the page and try once more.3.If the button says the change did not save, your connection dropped mid-request. Wait a moment and press it again.4.Still stuck? Email support with the course and lesson name and we will look at the record directly.

Videos complete themselves once you have watched about ninety percent, so you do not need to sit through the last few seconds.
