How quizzes work

Updated Aug 2026 · 2 min read

Most modules end with a knowledge check. You can retake it as many times as you like, there is no penalty, and a pass is a pass however many attempts it took.

The rules

  • Question types include single choice, multiple choice, putting steps in order, and matching pairs.
  • The pass mark is shown before you start, along with how many you need right.
  • Failing costs nothing. Review the lessons in that module and retry.
  • Quizzes do not block the rest of the course. Carry on and come back to one you have not passed.

Why they still matter

Every quiz in a course has to be passed before the final exam opens, and the final exam is what issues your certificate. So there is no rush on any single one, and they all need doing eventually.

Next Tutor will explain the concept behind a question and will not hand you the answer. That is deliberate: the point is knowing it, not passing it.
